My front porch acts as a bed and breakfast for many a weary traveling insect. Most of the time during the day it's moths hanging out sleeping off a night of light bashing. There was a praying mantis that, to be honest, completely freaked me out.But yesterday I had a charming visitor and it's my first time I've had a mammal boarder.
I think it's a long-legged myotis. It took a spot for the day and was such a pleasant guest, very quiet and no complaints. He was up in a corner and I had to use my zoom lens to capture these shots (along with a dozen others), but I was happy with the results.

I was sad to see him go as we so rarely see bats around here anymore. That's the way progress is though.
