The Friday 56: In Shade And Shadow

The Friday 56 is a weekly bookish meme hosted by StorytimeWithTonya.  The rules are simple:

Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
Turn to page 56.
Find the fifth sentence.
Post the sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or if you don't have a blog in the comment section of this blog.
Post a link along with your post back to Tonya's blog.
Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual.  Use the closest.

by Barb and J.C. Hendee

Poor Imaret broke, and Wynn's guilt overwhelmed her.  Her interest lay only in what had killed the messengers.  She tried to turn back to the girl but couldn't get out of the captain's grip.

I got through the first 20 or so pages but had to stop.  I don't know why I bought this book, but I've discovered a huge mistake on my part which is why it is the closest to my computer right now.  There's a five-part series that explains the whole story behind why there is this murder and... I didn't read them.  So.... I was looking last night to see all I have to buy of the Noble Dead Saga Series 1 and have to put this one aside and get the others first.  Oh well, more to read.

Happy Friday 56!

  3. By the cover I thought that this is a fantasy book. Light in her hand and light on the staff. So, this is a murder mystery? Or both fantasy and murder mystery? Sounds like a good read to me!
