The Friday 56: Truly, Madly

The Friday 56 is a weekly bookish meme hosted by StorytimeWithTonya.  The rules are simple:

Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
Turn to page 56.
Find the fifth sentence.
Post the sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or if you don't have a blog in the comment section of this blog.
Post a link along with your post back to Tonya's blog.
Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual.  Use the closest.

Dovie spun and nearly dropped her spatula when she saw me.

Well, I don't know who Dovie is yet and it doesn't necessarily make me want to dive in and read the book... but it's a complete sentence and it makes sense.  Sometimes that's all you can ask for in a Friday 56.

Book review in a couple of weeks, once I shovel through the detritus in my brain and make some room ;)

  1. Yeah, mine is boring this week too. What can you do? They can't all be the most wonderful or would defeat the purpose of the game!

  5. Sorry I only got to you today. It's been a hectic week and we are expecting it to be hectic still for the next week or so. Neway... the line sounds intriguing to me. Conjures all sorts of possible scenarios. Dovie could be a beautiful protagonist whom the one who walked in had a crush on. Wouldn't that make his day?
